Franco Colapinto criticizes performance of his Alpine after Hungarian GP
Franco Colapinto questioned the performance of his Alpine after finishing 15th in the Hungarian Grand Prix, expressing doubts about the car's functionality. The Argentine mentioned that he did not find the necessary pace to compete for points and suggested that the car may have had issues during the race. Colapinto conducted a critical analysis, admitting that the performance was far below expectations in high-temperature conditions and various strategies. His frustration was reflected in his statement: "There was a lack of pace, very strange. I don’t know if something broke, but I was going very slowly." The driver also commented on moments that affected his performance, such as being stuck behind Pierre Gasly and a possible touch that made him brake very closely. The 15th position highlighted Alpine's difficulties in the competition, as they never managed to get close to the points zone. Colapinto had to deal with a lack of speed on a circuit where tire degradation was crucial. Despite the result, he avoided delving into technical explanations, leaving that task to the team. He concluded the first part of the 2026 Formula 1 season, which will take a break before resuming activity. Colapinto valued the rest as an opportunity to reset and will focus on the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix, which will take place on August 23 in Zandvoort.
