Ethereum Staking Withdrawal Queue Reaches 786,275 ETH in 2026
The Ethereum staking withdrawal queue has reached its highest level in 2026, with over 786,275 ETH waiting to be withdrawn. This increase in requests is reflected in a wait time of 13 days and 16 hours for operators, in addition to an extra delay of 7.5 days. Currently, there are 868,121 active validators on the network, with 43,700,000 ETH staked, representing 35.76% of the total supply and offering an annual yield of 2.63%. The congestion in withdrawals is attributed to a security incident that affected MetaMask, where a precautionary withdrawal of approximately 17,000 validators was made, equivalent to 523,000 ETH. An analysis revealed that 18 of the 19 validator reward payments from MetaMask were redirected to a compromised address, although the attacker only stole 0.36 ETH.
