White House Announces Over $6 Billion Science Initiative, Tech Companies Commit $2.4 Billion
The Trump administration has announced a science initiative totaling over $6 billion, funded by the federal government, businesses, academia, and charitable organizations. Companies such as NVIDIA, AMD, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, AWS, and Micron will provide a total of $2.4 billion in superintelligent tools and computing power for the "Genesis Mission" alliance. NVIDIA has committed $1 billion, AMD $500 million, OpenAI $200 million, and both Anthropic and Google $150 million each. The initiative also includes $1.8 billion for NIH, DOE, and Biohub virtual biology projects, $215 million for quantum competition, and a Mars nuclear reactor project in collaboration with NASA and DOE, aiming for completion by 2028.
