According to Politico, citing two informed sources, President Trump met privately with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong on Tuesday.
As the discussion was a closed-door matter, the sources requested anonymity. It is unclear what was specifically discussed during the meeting, but shortly after, Trump posted on social media that banks "need to reach a good deal with the crypto industry" to advance the digital asset legislation currently stalled on Capitol Hill. He also stated that a recently passed crypto law "is being threatened and undermined by banks, which is unacceptable"—a statement that echoes Coinbase's position.
