MultiversX Plans Coordinated Hard Fork, Attacker Accounts Frozen

The distributed blockchain network MultiversX stated that the root cause of the attack incident was an operational sequence error, and the situation was brought under control after a swift response from validators. The attacker’s accounts have been identified and frozen on major exchanges, with law enforcement agencies involved. The proposed recovery plan is to conduct a coordinated hard fork from known good checkpoints, initially rehearsed with validators on the testnet and development network. The relevant code has been made public, and testing is still ongoing. The official reminder states that no transactions should be submitted or rebroadcast until recovery is officially announced, and EGLD/ESDT should not be accessed through exchanges or cross-chain bridges. Exchanges and cross-chain bridges will reopen in phases after the restart.
