At a press conference, Meng Huating, Director of the Foreign Investment Management Department of China's Ministry of Commerce, stated that in the second half of the year, efforts will continue to focus on stabilizing and optimizing the use of foreign capital, further shaping new advantages in attracting foreign investment, and ensuring the expansion of quantity, stability of existing investments, and improvement of quality. In terms of expanding quantity, high-level opening up will be implemented, with pilot projects in areas such as value-added telecommunications, biotechnology, wholly foreign-owned hospitals, and vocational training institutions. Support will be provided to enhance the construction level of the national comprehensive demonstration zone for the service industry in Beijing, and the revision and introduction of regulations regarding foreign investors merging with domestic enterprises will be accelerated.
