Broadcom Raises $60 Billion in AI Chip Financing

Broadcom's Wall Street syndicate is raising $60 billion in a new round of AI chip financing to support companies like Anthropic. The banks participating in this financing will issue a syndicate invitation for $42 billion in Class A senior secured debt to investors. Blackstone is leading an $18 billion Class B subordinated debt financing, planning to commit $9 billion through its various funds, with the remainder to be distributed through syndication. This financing plan has been in the works for several weeks, with industry insiders watching investors' willingness to fund the expansion of AI infrastructure. Broadcom seeks to sell more chips and other data center equipment to compete with Nvidia, while AI companies like Anthropic have an increasing demand for computing power.
