AI Giants Call for Slowing Research Pace as Clients Stay Away from Cutting-Edge Technology
The AI field has experienced rapid development over the past year, with leading AI developers beginning to call for a slowdown in research and increased regulation. Despite frequent AI safety crises, these crises have had limited impact on clients of Anthropic and OpenAI. Companies typically use commercialized and market-recognized models, which, while not at the forefront of AI, are sufficient to meet their needs. Stephen Messer, co-founder of Collective, pointed out that most companies are not using the latest models and may even still be using versions from two years ago, which are adequate for their work requirements. Some users remain unfamiliar with tips on how to effectively use the models, so the slowdown in AI research and development has little impact on them.
