1) Amazon Surpasses $3 Trillion Market Cap as AWS Demand Continues to Outpace Supply

Amazon (AMZN) exceeded a $3 trillion market capitalization for the first time after rallying more than 20% over the past two trading sessions. Its Q2 earnings showed AWS revenue growth accelerated to 36.7%, the fastest pace in 18 quarters, while remaining performance obligations approached $500 billion. The company raised its full-year capital expenditure guidance to $220 billion and said AI computing shortages could persist until 2028. CLARITY Vote Fails; Bitcoin Breaks Below $76,000 | WEEX TradFi Daily Brief (September 16, 2026)

Global markets on September 16 are focused on the Fed rate decision. On September 15, the S&P 500 fell 0.45% to 7,585.73, the Nasdaq fell 0.78%, and the Dow fell 0.63% as the 10-year yield broke above 5% and Brent crude rose to about $109. The CLARITY procedural vote failed to clear the 60-vote threshold, sending bitcoin down to about $75,600 and Ethereum toward $2,400. Energy led with a gain of about 2.3%. Investors are waiting for the 14:00 ET policy statement and Walsh press conference on September 16.

AI Slowdown Push Weighs on Chip Stocks; FOMC in Focus | WEEX TradFi Daily Brief (September 15, 2026)

Global markets on September 15 are focused on the Fed decision and a renewed repricing of AI capex. On September 14, the three major indexes closed lower.
