Strategy Lowers Net Leverage to 0.1% While Common Stock Risks Persist
Strategy (MSTR) has reduced its net leverage to 0.1% by increasing its dollar reserves and cash-like assets. As of the 23rd, the dollar reserves stood at $5.1 billion, with cash in dollars amounting to $1.59 billion, bringing total dollar assets to $6.69 billion. This asset level is close to the company's debt of $6.754 billion, explaining the net leverage as approximately 0%. However, this figure pertains to internal management metrics rather than GAAP debt ratios. Strategy plans to use its dollar reserves for preferred stock dividends and debt interest payments, while the cash in dollars will be utilized for Bitcoin purchases and stock buybacks. As of the 23rd, the BTC holdings remained at 840,447, and the company issued 18,261,118 shares to raise $2.065 billion. A portion of this was used for preferred stock buybacks and increasing dollar reserves. Strategy's stock price rose by 12% on the 27th, closing at $137.40, positively influenced by the increase in BTC prices and liquidity support. However, the expansion of common stock issuance may lead to dilution for existing shareholders. Analysts have differing opinions on the target stock price, noting that while liquidity expansion may reduce forced selling concerns, the net leverage metric could change rapidly with significant BTC price volatility.
