Solana transaction failure rate drops to 30.6%
Solana’s transaction failure rate decreased from 44.5% to 30.6% as target slot time was reduced. Blockworks Research analyst Sam Schubert reported that the share of failed transactions among those included in blocks, excluding validator consensus vote transactions, fell from 44.5% to 30.6% when comparing periods with target slot times of 400 milliseconds and 200 milliseconds. Additionally, the share of failed transactions in total compute usage, excluding vote transactions, declined from 29.8% to 20.9%. Schubert noted that this indicates a larger share of compute resources is being utilized for successful transactions. However, Blockworks Research stated it could not determine if the shorter slot time directly caused the lower failure rate.
