Sam Price Reveals Large Bitcoin ETF Redemptions
According to Twitter user Sam Price, the Bitcoin ETF experienced nearly $730 million in redemptions within two days. On October 7, approximately $485 million was redeemed, marking the largest single-day redemption since June. Another $244 million was redeemed on October 8. Fidelity and BlackRock were the main redeeming parties. The Ethereum ETF also saw continued redemptions, with October's total nearing $1 billion. Institutional investors are the primary buyers, and when they withdraw, prices are affected.

On October 8, 2026, US government-linked wallets moved 12,267 BTC, worth about $1.01 billion, out of a wallet holding funds seized in the 2016 Bitfinex hack, to new unlabeled addresses with no exchange deposit recorded. On-chain data shows movement, not intent, and no US agency has explained the transfers.
