RWA Perpetual Contracts Achieve $117.3 Billion in August Trading Volume, On-Chain Transactions Account for 86%
In August 2026, the total trading volume of real-world asset perpetual contracts reached $117.3 billion, with approximately $101 billion transacted on-chain, accounting for 86%; centralized exchanges recorded about $16 billion in trading volume, a 44-fold increase compared to the same period last year. A year ago, the on-chain transaction share was only one-third or lower. By the end of August, the open interest stood at $4.8 billion, expanding nearly 30 times from $161 million in July 2025. In terms of trading volume, stocks accounted for 48%, commodities for 28%, and indices for 18%, indicating a shift from a commodity-dominated trading structure to a more diversified one.
