OpenAI Releases 722 Mathematical Manuscripts

OpenAI has released 722 mathematical manuscripts generated by one of its internal models. These results were produced with a prompt and by an AI agent, but some mathematicians emphasize that until the model is released and the results can be reproduced, this claim cannot be verified. The collection includes 372 families of related results, and OpenAI states that it provided the model with around 4,000 problems and selected valuable results. Only 162 of the 722 manuscripts have been officially verified in the arXiv. Andrew Sutherland from MIT says that until the model is released, these claims should be considered unverified. Verifying a proof in the arXiv alone does not mean the problem is correct. The Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton has warned that AI can produce mathematical arguments that are not comprehensible. Some researchers view this event as a turning point for mathematics. OpenAI has announced that it will release more results from this project in the future, but the model and the prompts used remain unavailable.
