Jim Cramer Prefers Gold Over Bitcoin for Portfolio Insurance, Supports Ethereum and Bitcoin
Jim Cramer prefers gold bullion over Bitcoin (BTC) for portfolio insurance but acknowledges Bitcoin as a viable option. During an episode of Mad Money, he advised a caller to split new investments between index funds and five preferred stocks, suggesting gold or Bitcoin as insurance for that mix, with a preference for gold bullion or SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) if bullion is unavailable. Cramer emphasized that he does not consider Bitcoin a poor hedge, merely expressing a preference for gold. He warned against investing in low-quality tokens and suggested Ethereum and Bitcoin as exceptions. Cramer's comments come amid record inflows of 7000 million dollars into gold and Bitcoin ETFs in August, sparking debate on portfolio allocation strategies. His views reflect personal opinions and are not investment advice.
