On August 29, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi announced that Iran and Oman have reached a consensus in negotiations regarding the Strait of Hormuz, agreeing to reopen the waterway under a coordinated plan. Raisi pointed out that Oman initially supported Iran but later took a more reserved stance. Iran is working to ensure that if the waterway is reopened under specific conditions, the United States must fulfill its obligations, including lifting blockades and sanctions, unfreezing Iranian funds, and stopping Israeli hostilities in Lebanon. He emphasized that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz aligns with the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and has been accepted by all parties, thus must be implemented. Additionally, Iran is seeking consensus on how to interact with neighboring countries to form a common vision.
