Gemini for macOS has launched a global voice input feature, allowing users to press and hold the Fn key in any app to start speaking, with the transcribed results directly filling in the current cursor position. This feature automatically removes filler words like "um" and "ah," recognizes mid-sentence corrections, and organizes content into paragraphs or lists. With the optional screen inference enabled, Gemini can also read selected text, files, images, and documents, allowing users to use voice to rewrite content, adjust tone, summarize, or generate and modify images, with results written back to the current app. The new feature is being gradually rolled out globally, available to all Gemini Mac users, with initial support only for English.
