CZ Advises Young People Against Selling Homes to Invest in Cryptocurrency
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao stated that he does not recommend young people sell their homes and invest all their assets in cryptocurrency, especially when real estate constitutes a significant portion of their wealth. During a Q&A session at the Binance Clubhouse Bali 2026 Community on August 23, CZ mentioned that his decision to sell an apartment in 2014 to purchase Bitcoin stemmed from his belief in BTC's long-term potential. However, he emphasized that this approach is not suitable for everyone, as not everyone can afford to bear the total loss without affecting their standard of living. CZ suggested that most people should regularly invest 1% to 10% of their income in promising mainstream crypto assets. His remarks highlighted the importance of risk management and proportional asset allocation, reminding those who view real estate as their primary store of value to remain cautious. CZ's perspective indicates that for most people, a gradual investment strategy that aligns with their income is more reasonable than making extreme concentrated bets. This viewpoint focuses on financial behavior and risk rather than judgments about price or market direction.
