CleanSpark Prices 2.276 Billion Secured Notes Due 2031
CleanSpark has priced 2.276 billion dollars of senior secured notes due 2031, carrying a 7.875% coupon. Proceeds will support infrastructure development at its Sandersville, Georgia campus for Bitcoin mining and high-performance computing workloads. The deal highlights the growing trend of large infrastructure financings in the mining sector. The notes provide CleanSpark with capital to expand its data-center capabilities, which are increasingly important as investors seek facilities that can support AI and high-performance computing. The 7.875% coupon represents a significant interest burden, and the secured nature of the debt gives lenders a stronger claim on assets. This financing avoids immediate share dilution associated with equity raises but introduces fixed financing obligations. CleanSpark's move reflects the evolution of Bitcoin miners into hybrid entities that combine mining, power development, and data-center operations.
