ARK Invest: Stablecoin Market Highly Concentrated with Competition Among Two Giants in the Hundred Billion Dollar Range
ARK Invest crypto analyst Lorenzo Valente pointed out that there are significant network effects in the stablecoin market. Despite the existence of thousands of stablecoins, the market capitalization threshold has increased, leading to a flattening of the number of stablecoins across different tiers. Currently, the focus is on stablecoins with a market capitalization exceeding $10 billion, gradually moving towards $100 billion and $500 billion. Data shows that since 2021, the number of stablecoins with a market capitalization over $1 billion has only increased from single digits to 12. Meanwhile, the number of stablecoins exceeding $10 billion has decreased from its peak in 2022, with only Tether and Circle's stablecoins remaining. Valente believes that entering the $10 billion market cap club has become quite difficult, and in the future, the $100 billion stablecoin market may only see competition between two players, while in over two years, there may only be one stablecoin reaching the $500 billion level.
