Anthropic's Computing Commitment Reaches $517 Billion
Anthropic has committed to cloud, chip, and data center deals that could cost up to $517 billion, primarily over the next decade. This estimate is nearly three times its earlier prediction of $180 billion for server leasing by 2029, covering a longer timeframe and broader spending categories. Since October, Anthropic has signed agreements for at least 14.8 gigawatts of computing capacity, in addition to the 1 to 2 gigawatts previously secured. Amazon and Google account for 11 gigawatts, with estimated costs exceeding $300 billion over about ten years. Other partners include Microsoft, SpaceX, Lambda, and Nscale.
