XRPL processes 3,254 transactions in single block

XRP Ledger set a record by processing 3,254 transactions in a single block. XRPL Foundation community leader and validator Vet stated that XRPL does not have a fixed block size like Bitcoin, adjusting its transaction-processing target based on network conditions. When transaction volume increases and block processing remains efficient, the network can handle more transactions simultaneously, but will decrease that number if processing time exceeds five seconds. Most transactions in this block were simple transfers of small amounts of XRP, which placed minimal strain on the network. More complex activities, such as DEX or NFT trades, require more processing resources, making transaction count alone an incomplete measure of network capacity. The purpose of this large batch of transactions remains unclear, but it is likely a throughput test.
