What is FastNEAR? RPC Infrastructure and Data API for NEAR Protocol
A blockchain application not only requires smart contracts but also needs to continuously read balances, query history, and send transactions. If operating a node and processing raw data independently, the development team must allocate additional resources for servers, storage, and network synchronization.
FastNEAR provides infrastructure connectivity and data for applications on the NEAR Protocol, from wallets to blockchain explorers. So what makes FastNEAR special? Let’s explore the RPC infrastructure and data API for NEAR Protocol in the article below!
What is FastNEAR? RPC Infrastructure and Data API for NEAR Protocol
What is FastNEAR?
FastNEAR is a provider of RPC infrastructure, historical data storage, and APIs for NEAR Protocol. RPC is a remote procedure call mechanism that allows applications to send requests to nodes to read the blockchain state or submit signed transactions to the network.

In addition to RPC, FastNEAR provides APIs, which are application programming interfaces, to retrieve indexed data. This process organizes blockchain data into a query-friendly format suitable for wallet interfaces, asset tracking dashboards, and analytical tools. FastNEAR is not a standalone blockchain or a user wallet.

Special Features of FastNEAR
The notable feature of FastNEAR is the combination of direct access through nodes with indexed data. Checking contract status aligns with RPC, while displaying token listings aligns better with aggregated APIs. This separation reduces the need for data stitching on the application side.
However, indexed data should not be seen as a complete replacement for direct state from nodes. When precise confirmation according to the protocol is needed, FastNEAR documentation directs developers to RPC. FastNEAR serves over 3.5 billion requests per month and operates over 100 TB of data. The business metrics published do not prove it to be the fastest service in the market.
How FastNEAR Works
A typical flow in a wallet might occur as follows:
- Read account information: The application sends the account identifier to the FastNear API. The aggregated endpoint returns the account status, token data, NFTs, and related staking pools.
- Query activities: When users open the history, the application calls the Transactions API or Transfers API depending on whether the entire execution process or just asset transfers is needed.
- Send transactions: The wallet signs the transaction and then sends the signed data via RPC. The node receives the request, and the application checks the execution result according to the appropriate confirmation level.
The API key authenticates access to the service, not the private key for signing transactions. Successful submission does not mean all actions have been completed.
Regular RPC maintains the state of the most recent epochs, which are the operational cycles of the network. Archival RPC serves older data. Applications still depend on the provider and need to check limits, data freshness, and error handling.

FastNEAR Products
NEAR RPC
NEAR RPC supports reading accounts, calling read-only functions of contracts, checking blocks, retrieving validator information, and sending transactions. FastNEAR provides both regular and archival endpoints for both mainnet and testnet. Mainnet is the actual operational network, while testnet is for testing purposes.
FastNear API
FastNear API focuses on account data, suitable for wallets and asset tracking dashboards. The main query groups include:
- Token and NFT: Query the balance of fungible tokens and NFT information related to the account.
- Staking: Read information about related staking pools to support displaying staked assets.
- Public key: Find accounts corresponding to a public key.
- Top holders: Retrieve a list of accounts holding tokens, ranked by balance from high to low.
Transactions API and Transfers API
Transactions API serves activity history, allows transaction lookup by hash, and tracks receipts, which are units of work created during processing on NEAR. Transfers API focuses on NEAR token transfers and other tokens, supporting filters for direction (receive or send), asset, time, and amount. However, this service only supports the mainnet.
NEAR Data API
NEAR Data API provides recent block data, headers, and data by shard, which is the processing segment of the network. Applications can query periodically to monitor blockchain progress.
The service distinguishes between optimistic blocks, which are not finalized, and finalized blocks, which are complete. Optimistic signals are suitable for early monitoring but should not be presented as final confirmations.
KV FastData and Custom Indexer
KV FastData API supports reading indexed values and change history by key in contract data. The service is suitable when investigating data changes without building an indexing set. FastNEAR also provides a custom indexer to collect data and build custom reports.
Cost of Using FastNEAR
Cost of using FastNEAR
Business supports multiple API keys; Enterprise has custom endpoints and 24/7 support. The RPC pricing does not represent all other services.
FastNEAR Token
No information has been found regarding a separate token or tokenomics in the checked sources. The NEAR token of the network is not a separate token of FastNEAR.
FastNEAR Development Roadmap
Currently, the development roadmap of FastNEAR has not been disclosed. Coin68 will update immediately if there is detailed information.
FastNEAR Development Team
FastNEAR Development Team
- Evgeny Kuzyakov, also known as Eugene: Co-founder of FastNEAR, founder of NEAR.social; previously worked at Proximity, NEAR Protocol, Google, and Facebook.
- Mike Purvis: Co-founder of FastNEAR, experienced in server management and validator operations.
- Vadim: He is a team member primarily focused on blockchain and infrastructure development.
FastNEAR Investors and Funding
Investors in FastNEAR
On October 8, 2026, SVRN, a Nasdaq-listed company, announced the acquisition of FastNEAR. The value of the deal was not disclosed. Two co-founders joined SVRN. This is an acquisition, not a Seed or Series A funding round. No sufficient data has been found to confirm previous funding rounds of FastNEAR.
Conclusion
Through this article from Coin68, it can be seen that FastNEAR provides an infrastructure layer that helps applications on NEAR read states, send transactions, and mine account data or history without building the entire system themselves. The value of the model lies in combining RPC with specialized APIs. In return, developers need to choose the right data sources, confirmation levels, and service scopes for each task.
