Ukrainian defense tech teams are increasingly attracting investments through legal entities registered in the USA, the UK, and EU countries. This simplifies working with international funds and accessing foreign markets. For example, the company Swarmer, which develops software for drones, is registered in Delaware and conducted an IPO on Nasdaq in March 2026, raising $17.25 million. Other projects, such as UFORCE, raised $50 million while having a corporate structure in the UK, and the French company Alta Ares secured €50 million from international investors. Foreign registration complicates the assessment of investment volumes in Ukrainian defense tech. According to PitchBook, $18 million in investments were recorded in Ukrainian companies in the first half of 2026, while Delo.ua counted at least $64.6 million and €9.2 million in publicly announced agreements. These amounts do not always reflect investments in the Ukrainian economy, as part of the capital may be used abroad. It is important to consider where engineering teams, production, and intellectual property rights are located.
