Ukraine's Vegetable Oil Exports Increased by 52% in August 2026

In August 2026, Ukraine significantly increased its exports of vegetable oil by rail. Over 25 days, Ukrzaliznytsia transported 89.3 thousand tons of products, which is 12.8% more than in July and 52% higher than the same period last year. The largest volumes of oil, 72.7 thousand tons, were transported through western border crossings, while another 16.6 thousand tons were exported towards the ports. The transportation of meal and cake during the same period amounted to 133.3 thousand tons, which is 1.3% more than in July but 8.6% less compared to the same period in 2025. A total of 97.9 thousand tons of this product was transported through western border crossings, with another 35.4 thousand tons heading towards the ports. The cargo flow through railway crossings with Poland fell to 9.7 million tons, and the volume of cargo transfers in the first seven months of 2026 decreased by 7% compared to the same period last year.
