Ukraine and Azerbaijan Plan to Increase Trade to $1 Billion Annually
Ukraine and Azerbaijan have discussed increasing bilateral trade to pre-war levels of approximately $1 billion per year. One of the directions will be to expand the supply of Ukrainian agricultural products through Azerbaijan to Central Asia and the Middle East. During a meeting between Ukraine's Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky and the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev, the parties discussed the development of agricultural trade, increasing trade turnover, and attracting Azerbaijani investments into the Ukrainian agrarian sector. Azerbaijan proposed to more actively utilize the country's logistics capabilities for the supply of Ukrainian agricultural products. Vysotsky emphasized the importance of concrete results for the Ukrainian agribusiness, including increased trade and new partnerships. The possibility of resuming logistics routes through the Black Sea was also discussed, with the Ukrainian side highlighting the need for the safety of civilian shipping. A meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation is scheduled for the end of November, during which B2B meetings between companies from both countries will be organized.
