Traditional Finance Giant EquiLend Invests in Digital Prime, Connecting $40 Trillion Asset Pool to the Tokenization Market

BlockBeats News, December 17th, Securities lending infrastructure giant EquiLend (with a lendable asset pool of approximately $40 trillion) announced a "strategic" minority equity investment in regulated crypto lending service provider Digital Prime Technologies to position itself in the real-world asset (RWA) tokenization and digital asset market. The specific investment amount was not disclosed.

EquiLend stated that this move is aimed at addressing customer demand for a compliant, transparent, and governable workflow, enabling transactions, clearing, settlement, and reporting processes to cover both traditional financial and digital asset instruments simultaneously.

The collaboration will revolve around Digital Prime's institutional lending network Tokenet. Tokenet supports multi-custodian, multi-collateral full-lifecycle management, risk exposure monitoring, and institutional-grade reporting. In subsequent phases, compliance stablecoins are also planned to be introduced as collateral, along with additional tokenized financial instruments.
