The US Supreme Court is about to rule on the Trump Tariffs case

If the ruling is overturned, importers may potentially engage in a battle to claim back up to $150 billion in already paid tariffs to the U.S. government. The key challenge lies in the uncertainty of the refund process: even if successful, businesses widely anticipate the Trump administration to delay or deny refunds.
While U.S. Customs has hinted at implementing an electronic refund system, the fully automated process remains unclear. To proactively secure their interests, several large importers, including Costco, have initiated preventive litigation, while small and medium-sized enterprises are resorting to the secondary market to sell their refund rights to hedge funds at a steep discount (a few cents on the dollar). Experts advise that companies should promptly organize and verify detailed records of all paid tariffs and be prepared to apply for refunds promptly upon the ruling to navigate potentially years-long complex legal and administrative procedures.
