The complete list of Chinese cars in Argentina with prices starting from $18,900

Chinese brands continue to gain ground in the Argentine automotive market and now hold a significant share. In June, they registered 4,621 registrations among cars and light commercial vehicles, representing 10.7% of the total 43,199 units for the month.

The ranking was led by BYD, with 1,740 units, followed by Chery (694), BAIC (689), Haval (376), and MG (340). Behind them is an increasingly broad universe of brands such as Changan, Foton, DFSK, JAC, Jetour, Dongfeng, and GAC, among others.

For this calculation, the origin of the brands was considered, not the place of manufacture of the vehicles. Therefore, models produced in China but marketed under other brands were excluded. If included, the segment's share could approach 13.5% of the market.

Technology, electrification, and competitive prices drive growth

The growth of these brands can no longer be explained solely by price. In many cases, they have managed to position themselves with proposals that stand out for their level of equipment, technological innovation, and electrified options, segments where some traditional automakers still have less development in the region.

This is compounded by the impact of the regime that allows importing up to 50,000 electrified vehicles without the 35% tariff, as long as they meet certain requirements, which particularly favors models coming from China.
