Tether Assists Royal Thai Police, US Secret Service in Seizing 12 Million USDT from Scam Network

BlockBeats News, November 19th, Tether recently announced that it has supported a "collaborative" international operation involving the Royal Thai Police and the U.S. Secret Service. The operation ultimately seized about 12 million USDT (worth about 4 billion Thai Baht) related to "a large-scale fraud network operating in multiple locations in Southeast Asia."


It is reported that the operation was carried out by the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) under the Digital Economy and Society (DES) of Thailand and is one of the country's initiatives to combat online fraud and money laundering activities.


The Royal Thai Police stated that law enforcement has arrested "73 suspects, including 51 Thai nationals and 22 foreigners, and seized assets worth over 5.22 billion Thai Baht."
