Rwaj Raises $1.2 Million to Expand Social Commerce Platform
Saudi Arabia's Rwaj, a company specializing in direct shopping, has raised $1.2 million (4.5 million Saudi Riyals) in a pre-seed funding round to expand its social commerce and auction platform. Founded in Jeddah in 2024 by Tahr Al-Balawi, Rwaj operates a platform that allows sellers to showcase their products through live streaming and sell them at fixed prices or via instant auctions. The company will use the funding to accelerate product development and support its growth and expansion in regional markets. Rwaj integrates various stages of direct commerce within a single platform, from streaming and bidding to payment and shipping, where payments are held in an escrow account until the buyer confirms receipt of the order. Rwaj supports payments using Mada, Apple Pay, and cards, targeting products that benefit from live showcasing and interaction.
