Rumors of Hack at Ledger, 100,000 USDT Lost
Warnings are circulating on social media that hundreds of Ledger users may have lost their crypto. One user reports that nearly 100,000 USDT has disappeared from their wallet. An Arkham overview shows 90 addresses with a total of approximately 86 million dollars, but there is no evidence that this amount was stolen in a single attack. The public status page of Ledger does not indicate any widespread incident. The user states that their Ledger Stax was only used for storage and that the recovery phrase was securely stored. On the Tron blockchain, a permission is visible that allowed another address to spend USDT without limit, which the user did not grant themselves. Money flows to a receiving address are also visible on Ethereum, but the exact cause of the loss remains unclear. The claim of a major hack seems to rely on a screenshot, but does not prove a widespread issue at Ledger. Users can check their wallets for unknown approvals and should be cautious with their recovery phrase.
