Robinhood Launches Direct Account Management Service with AI Agent
Robinhood has launched a service called "Agentic Trading," where an artificial intelligence (AI) agent directly manages customers' investment accounts and even handles credit card payments. The AI can analyze market data and execute trades without the investor's instructions. Customers can connect the AI agent to their Robinhood accounts to automate stock trading, and the AI analyzes the portfolio and executes buy and sell orders based on set investment goals. Robinhood has added a feature that allows the AI agent to handle credit card payments, enabling automatic transactions when specific conditions are met. To manage the risks associated with the AI agent's autonomous operations, customers can open dedicated trading accounts and limit their funds, with real-time notifications and a "kill switch" feature also provided. However, customers bear the risks associated with orders placed by the AI agent, and AI-based strategies may not perform well under certain market conditions. Currently, Agentic Trading supports stock trading, with plans to expand the service to options, digital assets, and futures contracts in the future.
