Micron CEO Says Memory is the Strategic Infrastructure for AI

Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra pointed out in an interview with CNBC that memory is no longer just an ordinary component in computers, but rather the strategic infrastructure of the AI era. He emphasized that for AI to become smarter, faster, and scale up, it requires memory with larger capacity, higher speed, and lower power consumption. As the context generated by AI continues to grow, the demand across the entire memory hierarchy, from HBM, DRAM to SSD, will continue to increase. Mehrotra believes that memory is transitioning from its past role as a "commodity" to becoming a higher-value and indispensable core asset in AI systems.
