AI chip startup Groq has completed a $350 million financing round, with its valuation dropping to $3.5 billion, approximately half of its valuation from nearly a year ago. This round was led by the Dallas-based investment firm Disruptive, with participation from NVIDIA. Founded in 2016, Groq focuses on developing specialized hardware for artificial intelligence computing and is currently transitioning to become an AI data center operator, with a focus on serving AI model inference needs.
