Goldman Sachs Raises Optical Module Market Forecast to $148.5 Billion by 2028
Goldman Sachs has revised its industry forecast in the latest global optical module report, predicting that the global optical module market size will reach $67.7 billion in 2026, $131.4 billion in 2027, and $148.5 billion in 2028, representing increases of 33%, 81%, and 115% from previous forecasts. Goldman Sachs noted that this revision is driven not only by the growth in the number of AI servers but also by the migration of AI server architectures to high-speed networks and the increased number of optical modules required per GPU or ASIC chip, which is driving rapid growth in demand for 800G, 1.6T, and 3.2T modules.
