Goldman Sachs and Apollo in Talks to Sell $40 Billion SpaceX AI Chip Financing Stake
Goldman Sachs and Apollo Global Management are in discussions with Wall Street investors to sell a portion of a $40 billion financing deal for SpaceX's chip project. Some investors are being asked to commit up to $500 million before the formal syndication process begins. The debt includes an $8.3 billion senior secured loan and multiple bonds, with Goldman Sachs leading the loan portion and Apollo being the main investor in the bonds, along with participation from Pacific Investment Management Company. This financing, along with a $7 billion lease prepayment, will be used to purchase NVIDIA's Rubin chips valued at approximately $47.3 billion, which are expected to be delivered in the first half of 2027, with SpaceX leasing these chips under a five-year agreement.
