Former FTX COO Expresses Disgust at Netflix's FTX Series Trailer
Former FTX Chief Operating Officer Constance Wang expressed her disgust on the X platform after watching the trailer for Netflix's FTX-themed series "The Altruists," stating that it made her feel "physically sick." Wang mentioned that many people privately messaged her to discuss the trailer, and she believes the portrayal of the company does not align with her own experiences. Wang served as co-CEO before FTX's collapse and claims to be one of the last people to leave the Bahamas after Sam Bankman-Fried was extradited, resulting in significant personal losses. She pointed out that the media often perpetuates the narrative that "FTX collapsed because everyone was partying in the Bahamas," but her work environment was not like that. The series is an eight-episode limited series set to premiere on Netflix on November 19, and the approximately two-minute trailer has sparked criticism of the portrayals of former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison.
