First Regulated Repo Transaction on Stellar Network Completed
Ascend Markets and M1X Global completed the first short-term secured lending transaction subject to regulations on the Stellar blockchain on October 23, 2026. The pilot application utilized digitized U.S. Treasury bonds. The transaction demonstrated that collateral could be directly activated without the need for central clearing systems. The operation lasted continuously for three days, from October 16 to October 19. During the 72-hour process, the algorithm performed extension transactions without manual intervention. Collateral locking, interest calculation, and settlement steps were processed automatically. The total network fee remained below 1 U.S. cent. The transaction conditions were determined according to SIFMA standards. USDM1 bonds issued by M1X Global and USDC stablecoin were used. The interest rate was fixed at an annual rate of 3.98%. The collateral value was monitored via Chainlink oracle. Automated KYC and AML checks were implemented on the compliance side. This transaction marked a new phase in the utilization of capital within the Stellar network. As of October 2026, there are real-world assets worth $3.64 billion on the platform.
