Fireblocks to Provide Full Support for Cardano Native Tokens
The Cardano Foundation and Fireblocks have announced that Cardano Native Tokens (CNTs) will receive full support on the Fireblocks platform. Financial institutions, such as banks and fintechs, will be able to custody, send, and receive CNTs with the same security controls applied to other digital assets. CNTs are issued on the Cardano blockchain, alongside the native currency ADA, which has been supported by Fireblocks since 2021. Native support will eliminate additional manual steps in using CNTs, allowing them to be treated as standard assets on the platform. Support is expected to be available by March 2027. Frederik Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation, emphasized that the inclusion of CNTs in Fireblocks facilitates institutional adoption, while Stephen Richardson from Fireblocks highlighted the importance of reliable infrastructure for the issuance of new assets. Both organizations plan to evaluate new integrations with DeFi and the ecosystem in 2027.
