DB Securities Expands Ethereum-Based STO and RWA Business
DB Securities is expanding its virtual asset business focusing on token securities (STO) and real-world assets (RWA). On the 28th, CEO Kwak Bong-seok stated at the 'Ethereum Korea One: Genesis' institutional session held in Yeouido, Seoul, that digital assets and Ethereum are establishing themselves as a crucial pillar of global financial infrastructure. DB Securities launched a dedicated digital asset business team in November 2025, transitioning to a formal organization in May of this year. Currently, they are working on the issuance structure of token securities, platform development, and domestic and international collaborations. They are participating in the development of a carbon reduction STO platform in Busan and have formed a consortium with the startup Marina Chain to design the STO structure and financial structuring. CEO Kwak emphasized that the core of the project is to connect token securities with real assets and contracts, establishing them as a means to link assets and funds. Based on its experience in the domestic STO business, DB Securities plans to expand into the global market. CEO Kwak described Ethereum as a key infrastructure for expanding into the global capital market, stating that regulation and security are essential conditions for a sustainable ecosystem.
