A First Forum to Address Security Urgency
The League for Web3 Security (LSW3) and the Association for the Development of Digital Assets (ADAN) organized their very first Cyber Security Forum. This event was conceived as a collective response to the increasing number of attacks targeting the French crypto ecosystem, whether purely cyber or leading to very real physical threats.
The very name of the event, "(cyber) security," reflects this dual dimension. The organizers start from a simple observation, namely that the risk is primarily digital, but it is increasingly manifesting itself through violent assaults targeting asset holders and sector leaders.
Phishing and Vulnerability of Service Providers at the Forefront of Threats
Among the topics that dominated the two round tables, phishing emerged as the critical threat of the moment. This phishing technique, which involves trapping a user to extract their credentials or private keys, has seen a marked intensification in recent months, exacerbated by numerous data leaks.
Another recurring point is the vulnerability of digital asset service providers (PSAN) and ecosystem players. Recent incidents affecting companies like Brevio, Paymium, or Waltio have been widely mentioned as illustrations of the systemic risk hanging over the data of French users.
Justice and Crypto Cybercrime: A Dialogue to Clarify
The two panels of the forum, moderated by Grégory Raymond, a journalist at The Big Whale, brought together magistrates, lawyers, and Tracfin to clarify the articulation of judicial response.
Around the table: Élise Tréguer, vice-president in charge of instruction at the financial crime and cybercrime section of the Paris judicial court, Jordan Abedi, deputy prosecutor in charge of the organized crime secretariat at the Paris judicial court, Dominique Penin, partner lawyer in banking and financial litigation and business criminal law at Morgan Lewis, as well as a representative from Tracfin, the French anti-money laundering unit.
One figure particularly marked the debates: "Several million complaints are filed each year in France, and less than 10% lead to the opening of a judicial investigation by an investigating judge." In cases related to crypto-assets, the public prosecutor thus plays a decisive filtering role.
Jordan Abedi emphasized the "growing porosity between judges specialized in organized crime and financial magistrates, now forced to work together and develop cross-expertise." This collaboration also relies on experts in crypto cybercrime, capable of mapping on-chain flows. Such profiles are still rare: there is only one cybercrime and crypto specialized assistant for seven magistrates.

Towards Strengthened Public-Private Cooperation
The message reiterated throughout the day is clear: the fight against crypto cybercrime can no longer be reduced to a face-off between the state and companies. Authorities and private actors in tracing, compliance, and cybersecurity must now move forward together.
Interviewed by Cryptoast, Sébastien Martin, president of the Cyber Committee of ADAN and CEO of RAID Square, assesses the outcome of this meeting between magistrates and companies: "There is a strong demand from the public sector regarding tracing and flow analysis professions. But not all topics are clearly defined yet." On the private side, there is an expectation that these needs will be "further specified and standardized to comply with them."
Tracing reports illustrate this lack of framework well. Many of them reach investigators through victim complaints, sometimes drafted by unidentifiable white hat hackers. This complicates their judicial exploitation. They are very useful for investigations, but impossible to exploit outside a strict regulatory framework. One of the many projects that LSW3 and ADAN intend to pursue.

Micron’s Strong Guidance Meets Long-Bond Pressure|WEEX Market (October 1, 2026)
Markets on October 1 are focused on long-end yields, consumer earnings and consulting earnings. August PCE rose 3.4% year over year and core PCE 3.0%, both below forecasts, while implied odds of another policy-rate hike fell to about 36%. Still, the 10-year Treasury yield climbed to about 5.29%, a high since 2007, keeping pressure on long-duration risk assets. Micron beat on results and next-quarter guidance, but the after-hours gain was limited. Bitcoin traded near $83,600. Investors now watch jobless claims at 08:30 ET, Accenture before the open and Nike after the close.
