Cointelegraph Seeks Sale as Website Traffic Drops by Approximately 80%
Cryptocurrency media outlet Cointelegraph is seeking potential buyers, with the specific sale price yet to be disclosed. The website's traffic has significantly declined due to the prolonged downturn in the cryptocurrency market and penalties from Google searches. In October 2025, Google imposed a manual penalty on it, resulting in a decrease of approximately 80% in organic search traffic. Data from Similarweb shows that the website's monthly visits have dropped from over 12 million in December 2024 to just over 700,000 in September 2026. Cointelegraph was founded in 2013 and currently has over 200 employees.
