CoinEx Founder Says Hot Wallet Dual-Signature Architecture is Worth Learning From
CoinEx founder Yang Haipo stated that although CoinEx is shutting down, its hot wallet system remains advanced and is worth learning from for other industry practitioners. CoinEx employs an MPC-based dual-signature solution to manage its hot wallets, eliminating single points of failure. The infrastructure consists of two completely independent systems: a business system and a wallet system, each managed by separate teams that hold one private key. All withdrawals or transfers require real-time risk audits from both systems. Even if one system is compromised, attackers cannot directly steal assets. Yang Haipo pointed out that the challenge of this solution lies in the need to independently implement the wallet signing process rather than relying on the native mechanisms of each node; CoinEx spent over a year modifying the majority of nearly 300 chains it supports, one by one.
