Ava Labs has appointed Charlie Cooper as President and promoted Lydia Chiu to the official CFO position. Cooper previously served as the COO of Ava Labs and held senior positions at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Chiu has been responsible for corporate development and business development, and is listed as an executive in charge of corporate development on Ava Labs' official team page. This appointment is interpreted as a move to strengthen operational and financial responsibilities for the expansion of Avalanche-based enterprise and institutional business. Avalanche is a blockchain network that launched its mainnet in 2020, supporting the configuration of enterprise-specific blockchains by connecting multiple chains. Ava Labs has been introduced domestically as having anchored over 15 million academic records from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) on the Avalanche C-Chain. Emin Gün Sirer, the CEO, has been a leading figure in the Avalanche ecosystem, and John Wu, the former president, has worked alongside Sirer. Cooper is expected to lead management based on his operational and regulatory experience in the new regime.
