Arthur Hayes Warns of AI Bubble and Presents Opportunities in Digital Assets
Arthur Hayes has characterized the AI industry as a 'bubble' and warned that the debts related to AI companies and data centers could lead to a crisis. He mentioned the possibility of the U.S. government stepping in with trillions of dollars in bailouts, which could provide liquidity to the digital asset market. Hayes anticipates that the problems in the AI industry will become apparent around 2027-2028, pointing out that companies paying for AI computing costs have unstable revenue structures. He also warned that the debts of data centers could spread throughout the financial markets, potentially affecting ordinary insurance policyholders. He views the large-scale computing infrastructure that will remain after the collapse of the AI bubble as a new opportunity and is investing in projects that build an AI agent economy. Flop Labs, in which Hayes is involved, is developing a blockchain network called 'FLOP' that connects AI agents with computing resources, and the FLOP airdrop is set to begin at the end of October. He expects FLOP to serve as a means of payment and a coordination network in the AI agent economy.
