Anchorage Digital Cuts About 17% of Workforce, Valuation at $4.2 Billion

Anchorage Digital has laid off about 17% of its workforce. Earlier this year, the company was valued at $4.2 billion, and if the global employee count remains at around 400 as of February this year, this layoff affects approximately 68 positions. CEO Nathan McCauley informed employees of the layoffs this week. Anchorage Digital has expanded its regulated cryptocurrency business in recent years and has engaged in stablecoin issuance, including participation in Tether's newly launched US dollar stablecoin, USAT. Earlier this year, the company also received a $100 million strategic investment from Tether.
