All-new copy trading
Full isolation of accounts & positions: Copy trading reimagined
To provide a safer trading experience and clearer fund management, WEEX is rolling out a major upgrade to its copy trading system.
This upgrade introduces a new sub-account structure with full separation of accounts and positions. Once completed, copy trading and your personal trading will run independently, offering clearer risk boundaries and greater fund transparency.
The upgrade will begin on March 23, 2026, and will be completed in phases.
Why the change?
With the rapid growth of copy trading, the previous system no longer meets higher requirements for risk control and fund management. To provide a more stable and seamless experience, WEEX will launch a fully rebuilt core structure for the copy trading system.
This upgrade aims to:
- Strengthen risk isolation for copy trading
- Enhance transparency in fund and account structures
- Improve visibility of trading data and PnL
- Allow copy trading and personal trading to run at the same time
The result is a more stable, transparent, and professional copy trading experience.
What's new in this upgrade
The core of this upgrade is a redesigned account structure. The copy trading system will now use a new sub-account model, fully separating futures trading accounts from copy trading accounts.
1. Dedicated copy trading account
Copiers will use a new "Copy Account" for all copy trades.
This means:
- Copy trading funds are fully separated from personal trading funds
- Copy trading positions are isolated from regular futures positions
- Copy trading PnL is tracked independently
- Risks are calculated separately
Your personal trading will no longer be affected by copy trading positions.
2. Dedicated elite trader account
Elite traders will use a new "Elite Account" for elite trades.
With this change:
- Elite trading and personal trading are fully separated
- Positions are managed independently
- Performance and earnings are easier to track
This upgrade further improves the stability and transparency of elite trading strategies.
3. Futures account for personal trading only
After the upgrade, WEEX will adopt a three-account structure for futures and copy trading:
Account type | Purpose |
| Futures account | Personal trading |
| Copy account | Follow elite traders' strategies |
| Elite account | Executing elite trading strategies |
Each account runs independently, with separate margin, risk, and PnL calculations.
What this upgrade means for you
This upgrade brings major improvements to account structure, risk control, and fund management, making copy trading clearer, safer, and easier to manage.
1. Cleaner risk boundaries
Copy trading positions and regular futures positions will be fully separated:
- Risks are calculated independently
- Trading strategies no longer affect each other
- Issues in one position won't impact others
This keeps risk exposure clear and contained.
2. Clearer fund allocation
Funds are now organized by trading purpose.
You'll always know which funds are used for:
- Personal trading
- Copy trading/elite trading
Each account shows its own PnL, making performance tracking simple and transparent.
3. More stable copy trading
Dedicated copy trading and elite trading accounts ensure smoother execution.
This means:
- Copy trading runs independently from personal trades
- Elite strategies are executed with greater stability
- Order flows are easier to follow
The result is a more consistent copy trading experience.
4. Support for multiple strategies
You can now run:
- Personal futures trading
- Copy trading
These run at the same time without any interference, giving you more control over how you trade.
5. Stronger system performance
The system architecture has been upgraded to handle large-scale copy trading more efficiently.
WEEX will continue building on this foundation to further improve our copy trading experience.
What you should know
To help ensure a smooth upgrade experience, please keep the following in mind:
1. Your assets stay safe
This upgrade only changes the copy trading account structure. Your funds, positions, and trading history remain fully intact.
2. The upgrade may complete automatically
Accounts will be migrated step by step based on your current account status. Once eligible, the system will complete the upgrade automatically.
If you still have active copy trading or elite trading positions, the upgrade will finish after those positions are closed.
3. Upgrade for the best experience
Update to the latest app version to access all of the new copy trading features. Older versions may offer limited functionality.
4. Gradual changes during the transition
Some features of the old system may be phased out during the upgrade, including copy trading and elite trading under the legacy structure. All changes will follow the official upgrade schedule.
5. We're here to help
If you need assistance at any stage, our customer support is ready to help.
Final words
This upgrade marks an important step forward in WEEX's copy trading evolution. With fully isolated accounts and positions, you gain clearer risk boundaries, more transparent fund management, and a more reliable copy trading experience.
WEEX will continue improving its trading products to support smarter, more flexible strategies in a changing market.
Thank you for your continued trust and support for WEEX.
