8 Years of 'Friendship': Internet Celebrity Di Shi Reveals He Was Defrauded of Millions by Sun Zeyu
Over these eight years, Sun Zeyu has been able to help Di Shi 'cash out' millions of yuan.

On August 26, internet celebrity 'Di Shi' dropped a bombshell during a live broadcast: he claimed to have been set up by his blockchain investor friend Sun Zeyu, resulting in cumulative losses of tens of millions of yuan.
On one side is a controversial internet celebrity with built-in traffic, and on the other is a former founder of an investment firm in the cryptocurrency space. Eight years, only seven on-chain addresses—these keywords piece together a highly dramatic story.
Purchased ETH Lives on a Fake Chain
Di Shi, whose real name is Sun Zixuan, has had a rather erratic career trajectory. He learned feng shui early on and started his career in Hong Kong in 2007 under the brand 'Zhuanyun Tang', accumulating his first pot of gold through amulets and feng shui services. In 2016, introduced by game streamer Xiao Zhi, he entered the live streaming industry, signing contracts with Quanmin TV and Penguin Esports, gaining fame through outdoor live broadcasts, celebrity interviews, and flaunting wealth. In 2021, he set a record of 6.8 million viewers during a live stream in Dubai.
However, his public image has always been accompanied by controversy. In 2018, he was fined 1 million yuan by the platform for insulting police during a live stream two years prior. In June 2022, the Beijing Taxation Bureau reported that he had evaded taxes from 2019 to 2020, with a total of 11.7145 million yuan in taxes, late fees, and fines to be recovered. In February 2025, his Douyin account was completely banned amid a public feud with other internet celebrities.
In this video, Di Shi narrates a long-standing and deeply disguised scam.
According to his account in the video, he has known Sun Zeyu for eight years and has always regarded him as a 'reliable friend'. Their investment relationship began with the purchase of cryptocurrency assets, with Di Shi entrusting Sun Zeyu to buy mainstream cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as investing in an exchange operated by Sun Zeyu in South Korea.
The core issue lies with Ethereum. Di Shi claims that upon later investigation, he discovered that some of the so-called ETH assets he received were actually on a fake chain specifically set up by Sun Zeyu. This chain has only seven addresses, six of which are related to Sun Zeyu, with the only remaining one belonging to Di Shi himself.
Even more chilling is that over these eight years, Sun Zeyu has been able to help Di Shi 'cash out' millions of yuan. This 'ability to enter and exit' made the entire scam appear flawless on the surface, and Di Shi never suspected anything.
Di Shi stated during the live broadcast that this scheme has been ongoing for eight years. He calculated that if he hadn't discovered it now, by the time the cryptocurrency prices rose several times, the losses could have been not just tens of millions, but billions. As of now, Sun Zeyu has not publicly responded to this matter. Di Shi's accusations remain a one-sided revelation, with no public information indicating that any third-party on-chain analysis institutions or law enforcement agencies have intervened.
Sun Zeyu: 60 Million Yuan, Investment Runaway
The main character behind this scam, Sun Zeyu, is on a different trajectory.
He bought Bitcoin as early as 2013 and made his first million. Subsequently, he became a founding partner of Genesis Capital and co-founder of KuCoin Wallet. In an interview in 2020, he revealed that Genesis Capital had invested in about 200 to 300 blockchain projects at that time.
Previously, the largest profit Sun Zeyu publicly discussed came from TRON. After the regulatory storm in September 2017, many people sought to withdraw coins from Sun Yuchen, and because of his good relationship with Sun Yuchen, he felt he couldn't ask for it back, ultimately giving Sun Yuchen 15 Bitcoins (3 of which were from friends). Later, the TRON token surged from a few cents to 1 yuan and 1.5 yuan on Binance, and he distributed 120 million TRON tokens, 'most of which were sold at 1 yuan and 1.5 yuan', earning nearly 60 million yuan.
However, times have changed, and he has now become the subject of rights protection.
In April of this year, Wu Shuo Blockchain reported that two interviewees claimed to have financial disputes with Sun Zeyu. The first interviewee, 'Qing Tian' (William Lu), stated that in 2022, he participated in the TIA (Celestia) project through an intermediary, investing about 300,000 USD, but did not receive the corresponding tokens after the project was issued, and Sun Zeyu subsequently went missing. The second interviewee, 'Lu Zi', recounted that around 2021, he transferred about 1.5 million USD to Sun Zeyu under the guise of 'financial investment', only to be told that the funds had 'blown up', but he received no transaction proof or refund.
Di Shi mentioned in the video that Sun Zeyu has blown up and is currently overseas.
Jay Chou's Billion Yuan Bitcoin 'Vanished'
Di Shi is not the first celebrity to suffer significant losses in cryptocurrency assets. In October 2025, Chinese pop king Jay Chou made rare posts on Instagram seeking a friend, naming his longtime friend, magician Cai Weize, in strong terms: 'This friend has disappeared for a while, giving a bunch of excuses, and I believed them all. Please perform well. Do you think I'm not a magician? If you don't show up soon, you're done.'
Behind this 'search for a person' is a dispute involving over 100 million New Taiwan dollars in Bitcoin management.
In 2024, Jay Chou entrusted Cai Weize with about 100 million to 200 million New Taiwan dollars (approximately 23 million to 46 million yuan) to manage Bitcoin investments. Cai Weize has known Jay Chou for nearly ten years, having served as a magic consultant for Jay Chou's world tour and participated as a regular guest in the variety show 'Traveling Diary'. Jay Chou has publicly referred to him as 'the person who understands me best in the magic world'.
However, after the end of 2024, Cai Weize began claiming that the Bitcoin account was unable to withdraw assets due to 'technical issues' or 'being locked'. Jay Chou, considering their long-standing friendship, gave him a one-year grace period. But as the deadline approached, Cai Weize shifted from initially perfunctory excuses to complete disappearance. The promissory notes he previously issued also became worthless due to 'insufficient funds'. Additionally, Jay Chou's JVR Music Company received third-party collection documents, suggesting that Cai Weize may have conducted other financing or transactions in the company's name, implicating the company.
Both incidents point to the same harsh reality: even wealthy public figures can easily encounter fatal blind spots in the custody and verification of cryptocurrency assets. Jay Chou entrusted a large sum of money to a non-professional due to excessive trust in a 'brother', while Di Shi may have held tokens on a chain that does not exist due to trust in a 'friend'.
According to current regulatory policies in our country, virtual currency-related businesses are considered illegal financial activities, and losses incurred from entrusting others to invest in virtual currencies are difficult to protect legally.
For the entire industry, this incident serves as a reminder to everyone: in the crypto world, trust is the most expensive asset, while verification is always cheaper than trust.
