Why Does WEEX Show Assets but Say My Available Balance Is Insufficient?

Your WEEX total assets can be higher than the amount currently available to withdraw or transfer. Some assets may be in a different account, reserved for an open Spot order, or supporting a Futures position. For withdrawals, check the asset’s available balance and the accounts selected in the withdrawal form. For internal transfers, check the available balance in the account you are transferring from. If the figures still do not match, review the exact error message and contact WEEX support with the transaction details.

The useful question is not only “How much do I own?” but “How much of this specific asset can this action use right now?” WEEX separates Funding, Spot, Futures, and other product balances. Its upgraded withdrawal flow can draw available funds from selected accounts, but that does not turn amounts committed to orders or margin into withdrawable funds.

What Is the Difference Between Total Balance and Available Balance on WEEX?

Total balance describes the asset quantity recorded in an account. Available balance is the portion currently free for an action such as a withdrawal, transfer, or new order, subject to that action’s requirements. A frozen or locked amount is still reflected in an account balance but is committed elsewhere.

The WEEX asset balance guide explains how to inspect Funding, Spot, Futures, and Earn balances. It also describes common differences between a Spot asset’s total and free amounts, and between a Futures balance and the amount reserved for margin.

Balance or AmountWhat It Tells YouCan You Assume It Is Withdrawable?
Overall asset valueA combined view of holdings across products and assetsNo
Total amount of a particular coinThe quantity recorded in an accountNo
Available amount of that coinThe portion currently free in that accountCheck the withdrawal form and applicable conditions
Frozen or locked amountFunds committed to an order or another account actionNo, while committed
Futures marginFunds supporting an open order or positionNo, while required for that exposure
Unrealized profit or lossA changing value associated with an open positionDo not treat it as settled cash available to withdraw

The asset must match as well. Seeing an overall portfolio value denominated in USDT does not mean you hold that amount as available USDT. A balance in another cryptocurrency cannot be withdrawn as USDT without first using an applicable conversion or trade and checking the resulting available balance.

How Do I Find Which WEEX Account Holds My Assets?

Open Assets on the WEEX website or app and select the coin you are trying to use. Check its balance in each relevant account rather than relying only on the overall total. Look for Funding, Spot, Futures, and any product account in which you hold that asset.

For an internal transfer, read the direction shown in the form: “From” identifies the account whose available balance will be used, and “To” identifies the destination. If you select Spot → Futures but the funds are in Funding, the amount displayed elsewhere in Assets does not establish that Spot has enough available for that transfer. Select the intended source account if the interface supports that route.

For an on-chain withdrawal, the current WEEX withdrawal experience is more flexible than older instructions that told users to move everything into one account first. WEEX’s withdrawal product update says users can expand the account selection panel and choose available balances across Funding, Spot, and Futures. The system calculates a global Net Available Balance for the selected funds. Check which accounts are selected and the amount the withdrawal form actually permits.

An Earn balance should not be assumed to participate in that withdrawal aggregation. Check the product’s applicable redemption or transfer process before expecting it to appear as an available withdrawal source.

Why Is My Spot Balance Locked by an Open Order?

When you place a Spot order, the relevant asset quantity can be reserved until the order is filled, canceled, or expires. This helps ensure that the funds committed to the order remain available for its execution. WEEX’s Spot Trading Terms describe this locking of assets while an order remains active.

For example, imagine your Spot account shows 100 units of an asset in total. If 70 units are committed to an open sell order, the available amount for another action may be much lower than 100. The figures are illustrative; check your account for its actual total, frozen, and available amounts.

To investigate:

  1. Open the asset detail in Spot and compare total with available.
  2. Check your open orders for the same asset.
  3. Review how much of the asset each order commits.
  4. Decide whether you want to keep or cancel an order based on your trading intent.
  5. If you cancel an order, confirm its status and recheck the available balance before trying the withdrawal or transfer again.

Do not cancel an order merely because you want the displayed numbers to match. Canceling changes your trading instructions, and a partially filled order may leave a different balance than the original amount reserved.

Why Can’t I Transfer My Full Futures Balance?

A Futures balance can include funds supporting open positions, open orders, or other trading obligations. The entire displayed balance is not necessarily free to transfer. WEEX’s margin article explains that margin used to support a position is frozen for that purpose.

Check the Futures account’s available balance alongside its frozen amount, open orders, positions, and unrealized profit or loss. If a position is open, withdrawing or transferring funds away can change its margin conditions. The upgraded WEEX withdrawal flow includes warnings for certain Futures-related withdrawal risks, so read any message shown before continuing.

For an illustrative example, suppose the Futures account shows a total balance of 500 USDT and an available balance of 120 USDT. The 500 USDT figure does not mean you can transfer 500 USDT out while the account supports a position. Even the 120 USDT may need to be checked against the transfer or withdrawal form’s current requirements and risk warnings.

Avoid closing a position solely to make assets transferable without understanding the trading and margin consequences. If you are unsure why a Futures amount is unavailable, identify the affected position and ask official support to explain the account figures.

Can WEEX Combine Balances Across Accounts for a Withdrawal?

The updated WEEX on-chain withdrawal flow can aggregate available balances from selected Funding, Spot, and Futures accounts. This is a withdrawal feature; it does not mean all funds shown in your overall assets are automatically available, nor does it mean every internal transfer uses the same multi-account calculation.

Open the withdrawal form, select the asset and network, and expand the account selection panel if available. Check:

  • Which accounts are selected as funding sources.
  • The available amount of the asset in each selected account.
  • The displayed Net Available Balance.
  • The withdrawal amount, minimum, and applicable fee.
  • Any Futures risk warning or account restriction.

The product update describes a deduction priority of Funding → Spot → Futures for the upgraded flow. The useful number for you is the current amount displayed for your selected accounts, not a manually added total from an asset overview. A frozen Spot order amount or Futures margin does not become available because another account was selected.

If the balance seems too low, inspect each source account. If the interface does not offer the selection you expected or shows a warning, follow its current instructions rather than assuming an older transfer tutorial describes the same withdrawal flow.

Why Does an Internal Transfer Say “Insufficient Available Balance”?

An internal transfer moves a specified asset from one account to another. Check the transfer form’s source account, coin, and available amount. The asset may exist in WEEX but sit in the destination account, another source account, or a locked balance that the selected transfer cannot use.

For a transfer involving Futures, the WEEX Futures transfer guide shows how users can select a transfer direction and inspect the balance associated with the relevant account. Its older screenshots or labels may differ from the current interface, so use the live source and destination selectors when taking action.

If you want to move 200 USDT from Spot to Futures, for instance, check available USDT in Spot. A 200 USDT Futures balance, or 200 USDT worth of a different coin in Spot, does not provide that source amount. If Spot shows USDT committed to open orders, inspect those orders before expecting the available figure to increase.

Also distinguish an internal transfer between your own WEEX accounts from an on-chain withdrawal to an external address. They have different destinations, status records, and eligibility checks.

Could a Restriction or Fee Cause the Error Even If I Have Available Funds?

Yes. A sufficient-looking asset balance does not resolve every withdrawal or transfer requirement. Read the exact error message. It may refer to a withdrawal minimum, network availability, security verification, a temporary account restriction, or an amount that does not fit the permitted format.

For an on-chain withdrawal, check the amount and fee in the live withdrawal form. If you enter the full available amount, the form may require an adjustment depending on how the selected route applies its fee. Avoid assuming the fee is calculated the same way for every coin and network.

Security changes can also affect withdrawal availability. WEEX’s account security guidance says a recent password change may trigger a temporary withdrawal lock. Such a message is different from “insufficient available balance”; read and follow the reason shown for your account.

If the error concerns an API transfer rather than the website or app, verify the API key’s permissions as well. WEEX’s API transfer and withdrawal launch guide says API transfers need the corresponding Transfer permission. A missing permission cannot be fixed by moving assets between accounts.

What Should I Do If the Available Balance Still Looks Wrong?

Record what the WEEX interface shows before taking more actions. Note the asset, account, total balance, available balance, frozen amount if displayed, selected withdrawal or transfer route, requested amount, and exact error text. Check whether an open order, Futures position, pending withdrawal, or recent account action explains the difference.

Then use the official WEEX Help Center to contact support. Provide your UID or the identifier requested through the official flow and describe the specific mismatch. For example:

“My Spot account shows [asset] total [amount] and available [amount]. I selected [source] → [destination] for an internal transfer of [amount], but the form says ‘insufficient available balance.’ I have checked my open orders. Please help me identify which amount is unavailable and why.”

For a withdrawal, include the selected network and accounts, the form’s Net Available Balance, and any order ID if you already submitted a request. Do not share a password, verification code, recovery phrase, or private key.

WEEX Editorial View: Check the Balance for the Action You Are Taking

A visible asset balance answers what is recorded in an account; an available balance answers what a particular action can currently use. For Spot, inspect open orders. For Futures, inspect margin and positions. For an internal transfer, check the selected source account. For an on-chain withdrawal, check the accounts selected in WEEX’s updated withdrawal form and its Net Available Balance. When an error persists, the exact message and account breakdown give support a clear starting point.

FAQ

1. Why Can’t I Withdraw My Full WEEX Balance?

Part of the displayed balance may be in another asset or account, committed to an open order, or needed as Futures margin. Check the available amount for the exact asset and the selected accounts in the withdrawal form, then read any fee or restriction message.

2. What Does “Available Balance Insufficient” Mean on WEEX?

It means the amount currently eligible for that withdrawal or transfer does not meet the request as entered. Check the asset, source account or selected withdrawal accounts, locked amounts, and form requirements before changing the amount.

3. Can I Withdraw From Funding, Spot, and Futures Together?

WEEX’s updated withdrawal flow supports selecting available balances across Funding, Spot, and Futures accounts. Open the account selection panel and check the displayed Net Available Balance. Funds locked by orders or required as margin are not made free by aggregation.

4. Why Can I See USDT in Futures but Not Transfer All of It?

Part of the Futures balance may be supporting open orders or positions. Check its available and frozen amounts and any risk warning before attempting to transfer funds out.

5. Will Canceling a Spot Order Increase My Available Balance?

Canceling an unfilled order can release the asset quantity it reserved, subject to the order’s actual fill and cancellation status. Verify the order is canceled and recheck the available balance. Do not assume the entire original amount returns if the order was partially filled.
